COP26 - From policymaking to implementation: regional innovative solutions for climate change adaptation

The LIFE Urban Klima 2050 project is participating in this event where initiatives for climate adaptation policy innovation (roadmaps to climate, energy, and blue economy transition) will be presented, as well as practical implementation projects to shift towards new economic and territorial climate governance models with concrete impact in the territories. The event will focus on 4 leading experiences at regional level and their global replicability.

16:00: Welcome and introduction.
16:10: The Overseas Countries and Territories and their steps and new roadmap to shift to a sustainable Blue Economy. Mr. Kalistat Lund. Representative of OCTA's Chairman, Greenlandic Minister for Agriculture, Self-Sufficiency, Energy and Environment.
16:20: The Government of the Balearic Islands' roadmap for adaptation as well as the first pilot projects developed. Mr. Juan Pedro Yllanes. Vicepresident of the Balearic Government and Regional Minister for Energy Transition.
16:30: The European policy context from a local and regional perspective.> Mr. Apostolos Tzitzikostas. President of the Committee of the Regions & Governor of Central Macedonia Region, Greece .
16:40: The Basque Country’s action on climate change adaptation resulting in a collaborative and transformative project, Life Urban Klima 2050. Ms. Amaia Barredo. Viceminister for Environmental Sustainability of the Basque Government .
16:50: Conclusions.
