Start of cleaning work in the Tonpoi area (Bermeo)

In December, work began on the demolition, levelling and clearing of the land in the Tonpoi area (Bermeo).
This is the initial work for the comprehensive recovery of this space, both from an environmental and social point of view, through the creation of a peri-urban green infrastructure for public use, with sustainable criteria and adapted to climate change.
The area has a 3 km coastal strip of high environmental value, belonging to the Natura 2000 Network and classified as a core area of the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve.
This initiative is part of action C.4.2: Key green infrastructure for improving urban-rural connection and the resilience of the territory.
Partner entity: City Council of Bermeo
