Urban Klima 2050 invites citizens to take part in ASTEKLIMA AZOKA, a participatory event to learn about climate change as a family

The activity, which is part of ASTEKLIMA 2023, the Basque Country Climate and Energy Week, will take place from 22 September to 1 October in nine Basque municipalities.
Participants will be able to play some games to learn about the need to mitigate and adapt to climate change.
For one week, from 22 September to 1 October, the Basque Country will be taking on the challenge of climate change. For the fourth consecutive year, ASTEKLIMA, the Climate and Energy Week, is organising hundreds of activities across the Basque Country in order to make Basque citizens aware of climate change with the idea that “every action, no matter how small, counts”.
An event that the LIFE IP Urban Klima 2050 project does not want to miss, as promoting climate awareness and taking action are some of its main objectives. This week, Urban Klima 2050 is organising ASTEKLIMA AZOKA, participatory event for families with the aim of raising awareness of the effects of climate change and the importance of adapting our daily habits to contribute with small gestures to its mitigation and adaptation.
Participants will be able to play some games to learn about different topics around climate change, like how to adapt their habits and become agents of change as we face the necessary energy and climate transition. ASTEKLIMA AZOKA also aims to have continuity and will set each family a 21-day challenge to strengthen their commitment as a family. Families who accept the challenge will be entered into a prize draw.
These activities are mainly aimed at families with children aged 4 to 10 and will take place from 22 September to 1 October in nine municipalities: the three Basque capitals, and Bakio, Trapagaran, Irun, Azpeitia, Zarautz and Bermeo.
